LaShanti Hill, best known as the CurlQueen, has already made her mark on the natural hair industry in Philadelphia at just 25 years of age. In her words, quite simply: I always knew I wanted to do hair. Beginning her career as an Assistant, she’s moved her way thru the ranks quietly, graduating at just 17 years old with her cosmetology license from Murrell Dobbins high school located in the strawberry mansion section of our city. Published in hair publications such as BlackHair Magazine and Coiffure, LaShanti has and continues to work endlessly to make her work speak for itself. In 2018, she opened her first salon, CQ Hair Lounge, after nearly 10 years as a licensed cosmologist. With no plan to let up, she continues to learn and master her craft because though she’s an educator of the skill, she recognizes that the master too, was once the student.
